Barbados is conservationally and ecologically ahead of its time. The zoo, for example, is incomparable. The animals live here free, uncaged and in their natural habitat (excepting the python). A combination of family activity and nature walk, the lush mahogany forest and the footpaths make the Wildlife Reserve very accessible. Visitors have te opportunity to view at close range the many inhabitants of the woodland. Young monkeys play with one another while mothers feed their young. Tortoises dawdle along the cool paths and otters, agoutis and many more animals populate the forest. Informational booklets, refreshments and gifts are available at reception. 

The Wildlife Reserve is within walking distance of other attractions, specifically, a Great House and the Grenade Signal Station.
